Clara L. Dorfman is an associate attorney with Maier Pfeffer Kim Geary & Cohen LLP. Her practice at the firm focuses on a wide range of issues, including tribal law and policy, economic development, self-governance, fee-to-trust land acquisitions, Indian Child Welfare Act cases, and dispute resolution.

Prior to joining the firm, Clara clerked for Judge Lauren King in the Western District of Washington and worked at the international law firm WilmerHale, including in the firm’s Native American practice group and on matters involving human rights, pro bono criminal defense and immigration law, and international investigations. A graduate of Berkeley Law, Clara completed certificates of specialization in International Law as well as Race and Law during her legal education. She received her undergraduate degree in philosophy and Italian literature at the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked in various political and governmental roles, including for the U.S. House of Representatives. Clara is passionate about furthering the economic and political empowerment of tribal communities.
